• Hi, I'm Alice!

I studied as an undergraduate in Lancashire College of Hebei University from 2019 to 2023, my major is interior design. I am still studying to be a qualified interior designer.

So let's take a look at who I am and what I'm doing

  • What I am

I am a college student and my major is interior design. The reason I chose interior design as a major is because I like to make models of houses. In the process of professional study, I gradually realized how I should design my buildings, who should I consider and design for, and how to convey my thoughts and concepts.

  • What is my philosophy?

    Section image

    equality

What I want to convey is equality of gender, race and everyone. I want to show my attention and help to people in unequal status, such as women, children, disabled people and the elderly, in my design.

    Section image

    protection

While conservation refers to the protection of nature, to achieve this I will use more environmentally friendly materials, reduce energy consumption and do not use designs that will damage the local environment.

    freedom

freedom refers to the fact that I want to be more courageous in expressing my ideas in my design.

Hollow Village Report-Nanlong Buyi Ancient village

    Section image

The village chosen by our group is Nanlong Buyi Ancient Village in Guizhou, China, which is a "hollow village" with profound history and culture and gradually fading out of public view. Our group's task is to help the village rebuild and find a reliable source of economy for the village.

The region I am responsible for is part c, which is the National product commercial district. Our group will help the villagers achieve self-sufficiency by promoting the traditional culture of the village and carrying out processing and commercialization. The main role of the area I chose is to sell processed goods. According to the research on the villages, we found that the commodity culture that could be utilized in the villages included making special brown sugar, brewing wine, dyeing technology, Musical Instruments and cultural creativity. Therefore, I carried out different design transformations and division of labor for the four buildings according to these characteristic cultures and industries. I also designed an additional passageway connecting the four buildings and a shared transport channel connecting the other areas for goods and people.

The internal frame of the building was adapted to local architectural features, using wooden beams and tiles for the roof, while parts of the walls were poured with concrete reinforcement for safety reasons. The first building is used as a sugarcane products store. The first floor mainly sells paper, brown sugar and sugarcane juice made from sugarcane. The second floor is connected to the sugarcane manufacturing plant in another area by a cargo transport channel for sugarcane products. The second building is used to sell the village's unique blue dye cloth and clothing products, which are made by the villagers themselves, a special souvenir that represents the village. The third building has rooms for mothers and babies, toilets for the disabled and women on the first floor, and men's toilets on the second floor, which are convenient for visitors to solve their physical problems. The fourth building is the musical instrument display area and the village cultural and creative sales area. On the left side of the building is the musical instrument display area, which is used for the village's traditional customs concerts, and the second floor is used for storing Musical Instruments. The middle area of the building provides a place for people to rest, while the right side of the building is the cultural and creative sales area.
